The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District is set to hold a virtual public meeting to discuss updates on the Chautauqua Lake Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project. This project is part of a multiyear plan aimed at restoring the aquatic ecosystem of Chautauqua Lake.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants can join the meeting online via a specified web link or through phone, with details and access codes provided for both options.

At the meeting, there will be a presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. For those who cannot join at the start, the presentation will be repeated after the initial Q&A.

Chautauqua Lake, a 13,000-acre glacially formed body of water in New York, is crucial to numerous aquatic communities and the regional economy. Its ecosystem faces challenges such as sedimentation and harmful algal blooms. The project aims to revitalize the lake's natural resources and improve its ecological functions and processes.

The Pittsburgh District, which covers a wide area including parts of western New York among others, plays a key role in managing water resources and enhancing environmental infrastructure.

For more information, the Public Affairs office can be contacted, and more details about the event and project are available online. The Pittsburgh District also shares updates on their social media platforms.
