April marks the recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, and communities are encouraged to come together in support of children and families. In Jamestown, residents are invited to participate in the Pinwheels for Prevention ceremony to demonstrate a collective commitment to a safer future for children. This local event uses pinwheels, a national symbol of child abuse prevention, to express this solidarity.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place at Jamestown City Hall on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. Those unable to attend in person have the option to join via a live broadcast on YouTube: youtube.com/live/A2Ig4k6OrXg.
"Together, we can make a difference. Let's plant hope, raise awareness, and work toward a future free from child abuse," the organizers emphasize. Attendees are encouraged to wear blue to show their support.
Community members, businesses, and advocates are invited to participate in this public event. Additional information about the event is available at chqgov.com/news/chautauqua-county-kicks-child-abuse-prevention-month-pinwheel-prevention-campaign.
