The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene has released its 2025 Mental Health Awareness Month Toolkit in anticipation of May's observance. The toolkit aims to assist individuals, schools, and organizations in participating in the month's activities.
This year's theme, "Small Steps. Big Impact.," underscores the significance of everyday actions in promoting mental health within communities. The toolkit includes resources such as art contest information, educator tips, social media content, Facebook profile frames, and details on the #MentalHealthRocksCHQ campaign.
A highlight of the toolkit is the 2025 MHAM Art Contest which encourages creative expression related to mental health and wellness. Submissions for this contest will be accepted from April 1 through May 23, 2025.
"Providing schools, businesses, and organizations with accessible tools ensures that mental wellness remains a priority," stated Trish McClennan, Deputy Director for the Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene. "This toolkit is a great way to inspire action and spread awareness throughout May and beyond."
The county's initiative aims to foster conversations and community involvement regarding mental health by making these resources available.
"The toolkit is designed to make participating in Mental Health Awareness Month simple and impactful," commented Rachel Ludwig, Project Director for Chautauqua Tapestry. "Even small actions—like sharing a social media post, creating artwork or starting a conversation—can help break down stigma and promote mental wellness."
The toolkit can be downloaded now at https://chqgov.com/mental-health-awareness-month-2025 or Tapestrychq.com.
