The Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services, in association with Gustavus Adolphus (GA) Family Services, YWCA Jamestown, and Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), will host the "Real" Game of Life Resource Fair. The event is set for April 16, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the GA Family Services gymnasium in Mayville, NY.

Aimed at local youth aged 14 to 21, the free event intends to guide young adults in navigating the journey to independence. "The Resource Fair connects attendees with local organizations offering tools and guidance in key areas of adulthood, including employment, education, housing, finance, transportation, healthcare, and more," said a spokesperson.

Participants will interact with agencies, engage in skill-building activities, and explore available resources. Interacting with vendors allows attendees to earn raffle tickets, providing an opportunity to win prize baskets. Those who arrive before 12:30 p.m. will be eligible to enter a door prize drawing for an E-bike package worth over $1,200.

Previously included vendors were local banks, SUNY Jamestown Community College (JCC), Job Corps, CHQ Transit, BOCES, Chautauqua Works, and Prevention Works, with the 2025 event promising an expanded roster.

Transportation support is available via CHQ Transit. Bus schedules and reduced student rates can be accessed on the CHQ Transit website or by scanning the event's flyer QR code.

The event reflects a collaborative effort of the Independent Living (IL) Program at Chautauqua County’s Department of Mental Hygiene and Social Services, the GA A&R IL Program, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Chautauqua County, and YWCA Jamestown. Their joint mission is to empower and support the youth in the region.
