Chautauqua County prepares for winter storm with public briefing

Chautauqua County officials are set to host a briefing on the ongoing winter storm to deliver the latest updates on weather conditions, safety advice, and response actions.

The session is scheduled for Monday, December 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Emergency Operations Center in Mayville, NY. Key figures attending include County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr., Sheriff James Quattrone, Director of Emergency Services Noel Guttman, and Interim Director of the Office for Aging Services Dana Corwin.

The briefing will address the lake effect snow warning effective through Tuesday evening, provide safety guidance for residents whether traveling or staying home, and outline the county's measures in response to the storm.

“This briefing is an opportunity to keep our residents informed and ensure we’re working together to navigate this challenging weather event safely,” stated County Executive Paul M. Wendel Jr.
