The Alfred University men's track & field team finished 13th out of 18 teams at the SUNY Brockport Invitational on Saturday.
AU scored five of its 12 points with the sixth place finish of its distance medley relay team. The team of Ryan Weir, Jackson Trimboli (Arkport, NY/Arkport Central), Kevin Flint (Caledonia, NY/Caledonia-Mumford) and Max Rasilla (Moraga, CA/Midland) combined for a time of 12:01.11 to edge out the time of 12:06.37 by the Oswego State team.
Jason Crocker (Oreland, PA/Springfield Township) scored four points in the shot put, taking fifth place. He qualified for the finals with his third throw of the day, throwing 12.84m (42'-1.5"). Entering finals in ninth place, he remained in the last spot of the thrower who were granted the opportunity for three more throws. Crocker tossed 13.97m (45'10") on his final attempt to jump up to fifth place.
AU closed out the weekend with a ninth place finish in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:44.63 from the team of Trimboli, Connor Scriven (Peoria, AZ/Liberty), George Mecca (Derby, NY/Eden) and Neil Peters (The Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton).
The Saxons will next travel for a Friday meet at Rochester Institute of Technology on February 10 at 4:00pm.
