Cost of college went up for all students at Houghton College

Tuition and fees rose 3 percent for 2018-19 at Houghton College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

New York students paid $32,488 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $948 more than the $31,540 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 263 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.7 million and 163 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.4 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,001), 967 students used grants or scholarships totaling $17.5 million, and 652 students took out $4.6 million in federal student loans.
