95 percent of applicants to Houghton College were admitted for fall 2018

At Houghton College, 93 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 60 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Houghton enrolled 1,001 students in fall 2018, including 988 in undergraduate and 13 in graduate programs, data shows. 4.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

69 percent of undergraduates are residents of New York, and 27 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (72 percent) and Black or African American (6 percent).

The school admitted 95 percent of the 814 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 33 percent enrolled.
