On March 2, 1824, the Town of Busti was officially established. Despite historical records often citing April 16, 1823, as its inception date, this week marks its true founding. In a rare geological event for the area, an earthquake was felt locally on March 2, 1925. Additionally, William O. Isaacson, the last known Spanish-American War veteran from Jamestown, passed away on this day in 1972.
