The Village of Sinclairville has issued a call for water conservation among its residents due to an incident involving a tanker truck carrying gasoline on Route 60. The accident has led to the temporary shutdown of the main water wells that serve the village as officials ensure there is no contamination.

In response, the village will rely on two alternate wells, but these are insufficient to meet peak demand. Residents are urged to limit their water usage during this period. Suggested measures include reducing laundry loads or using laundromats, taking shorter showers, using paper plates and disposable silverware, and only running dishwashers when fully loaded. Additionally, residents should avoid letting water run unnecessarily.

Village officials expressed gratitude for community cooperation. For further details or updates, residents can contact Village Water Operator Ryan Edson at (716) 338-8550 or visit the Chautauqua County Health Department's website at www.HealthyCHQ.com.

The Chautauqua County Health Department remains committed to public health support in the region through innovative approaches and services aimed at disease prevention and health promotion.
