Jamestown man sentenced to five years for drug possession

On Tuesday, July 30, Alex Johnson, age 23, of Jamestown, was sentenced by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison term of five years with two years of post-release supervision. Johnson was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony.

In November 2022, the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Johnson’s residence and located a quantity of fentanyl.

Johnson was initially charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree but pled guilty to the reduced charge in April 2024.

"The DA would like to thank the Jamestown Police Department for their work on this case." This case was prosecuted by ADA Erik Bentley.
