An Alfred University MFA alumnus and a current MFA student in the School of Art and Design are leading a project that aims to link global industry, environmental justice and contemporary ceramics through storytelling and research.
The project, called The Ceramic Materials Atlas, is the brainchild of Colorado State University Associate Professor Del Harrow ’05 (MFA) and Rose Schreiber-Stainthorp, who currently is studying for her MFA from Alfred University and expects to receive the degree this year.
Harrow and Schreiber-Stainthorp’s recently received good news regarding their efforts: The Ceramic Materials Atlas has been awarded a research grant from the Center for Craft, a national not-for-profit organization based in Ashville, NC and dedicated to the promotion of craft and the craft tradition.
