Carmelo Hernandez, the Director of Community Mental Hygiene Services and Commissioner of Social Services for Chautauqua County, New York, is promoting a new mental health initiative from New York State. The program, Be Well NY, aims to improve access to mental health care and resources statewide.

This initiative aligns with New York State's ongoing efforts to enhance mental wellness and ensure that residents can access necessary care. "I am pleased to share that Chautauqua County residents now have another layer of mental health support available to them through the Be Well NY initiative," Hernandez stated. "This program will offer critical resources that help remove the barriers to care, providing people with the tools they need to live healthy and fulfilling lives."

The Be Well NY website offers a user-friendly platform for individuals seeking information on managing stress and addressing trauma. It also provides access to the 24/7 National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988. More details about the Be Well NY initiative are available at https://bewell.ny.gov.
