Codie Swartz, age 24, of Jamestown was sentenced Monday, June 17th, by Judge David Foley to a determinate state prison sentence of four years with three years of post-release supervision after he was convicted of Assault in the Second Degree, a class D violent felony.

On July 30, 2022, a fight broke out at the Wine Cellar in the City of Jamestown where four individuals were injured. Mr. Swartz attacked one of the victims and injured three others who attempted to break up the fight. The Jamestown Police Department located Mr. Swartz after he fled from the scene; he was charged with three counts of Assault in the Second Degree and one count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree by a Chautauqua County Grand Jury in January 2023.

On October 5, 2023, Mr. Swartz pled guilty to one count of Assault in the Second Degree; the other charges were covered by this plea. The District Attorney expressed gratitude to the Jamestown Police Department for their efforts on this case. The case was prosecuted by ADA Andrew Molitor.
