Employers urged to adopt safety measures against heat-related illnesses

Workers may be required to operate in hot environments for extended periods. When the human body is unable to maintain a normal temperature, heat-related illnesses can occur and may result in death. This page provides information to employers on measures they should take to prevent heat-related illnesses and fatalities.

Symptoms of heat stroke (sun stroke) include high body temperature, altered mental state or behavior, nausea, and flushed skin. Immediate treatment is crucial as it is an emergency situation.
