CELORON, NY – The 7th annual Dwyer Gala held at the Chautauqua Harbor Hotel in Celoron, NY on April 13th was more than just a social event; it was a profound symbol of unity for veterans and their families. The event, attended by a record 225 esteemed veterans and their guests, showcased the enduring bond shared by those who have served.
The evening commenced with the dignified presentation of colors by the newly formed Dwyer Honor Guard, followed by a heartfelt toast from retired US Army General Arthur Austin. The Gala's theme, "Mystery at the Masquerade Ball," set the stage for attendees to come together in a supportive environment, reveling in the warmth of companionship.
During the event, guests enjoyed a sumptuous plated dinner while being entertained by the Spire Theater group's captivating performance in “The Caper of the Copped Key.” County Executive PJ Wendel, Assemblyman Andy Goodell, and other esteemed Dwyer members actively participated in the theatrical production, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and community support.
Organizer of the Dwyer Gala, Cindy Reidy, shared her thoughts on the evening, stating, “We implemented a fresh format this year to ensure a dynamic and engaging experience for our veterans. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with guests already inquiring about next year's Gala and its theme.” She emphasized the Gala's significance, saying, “For our veterans, the Dwyer Gala represents more than just a single evening—it embodies a sense of belonging and security. It's a sanctuary where they can forge lasting connections with fellow veterans.”
