Mark Geise, the Deputy County Executive for Economic Development and CEO of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA), has been named to Buffalo Business First's "Power 250" list for 2025. This list, compiled annually, highlights the most influential figures in Western New York across eight counties.

Geise improved his position from 193 in 2024 to 187 this year. He has been recognized for his leadership roles since March 2018 and his efforts in business expansion within Chautauqua County. Under his guidance, the CCIDA has facilitated more than $1.15 billion of capital investment, including key projects with companies such as Cummins Engine and Wells Enterprises.

Additionally, Geise has been pivotal in initiatives like the Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG), which successfully granted millions of dollars for various development projects. In 2024, this partnership also provided significant grant funding to support local projects.

"Mark Geise’s continued recognition on Buffalo Business First’s ‘Power 250’ list is a testament to his unwavering dedication and leadership," said Paul "PJ" Wendel Jr., Chautauqua County Executive. He added that Geise's efforts have brought valuable investment and opportunities to the county.

Geise expressed gratitude for the recognition, attributing success to the collaborative efforts of his team and stakeholders, particularly thanking County Executive Wendel. Gary Henry, Board Chair of CCIDA and CREDC, also applauded Geise, noting the significant impact of his work on the county's living and working conditions.

Alongside his CCIDA responsibilities, Geise holds leadership positions in various organizations, including the Chautauqua County Visitors Bureau and Invest Buffalo Niagara. He initiated the Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation, serving the community for over a decade.

Geise resides in Fredonia with his wife Katie and their three children. Buffalo Business First has published the "Power 250" since 2013, focusing on regional influence and changes annually.

CCIDA, backed by New York State, actively supports development by attracting businesses and supporting existing ones through various incentives, aiming to boost employment opportunities in Chautauqua County.
