Commissioners Kevin Burleson and Cortney Spittler of the Cattaraugus County Board of Elections have announced local registration days in Cattaraugus County for voter registration ahead of the Nov. 5 General Election.

New York State Election Law mandates that in presidential election years, the board of elections must schedule a local voter registration event on two separate days with evening hours, one of which must be a Saturday. This provides an additional opportunity for people to register in time to vote in the General Election. It also allows those who have moved but have not yet notified the Board of Elections to complete a new voter registration form with their updated address.

People registering to vote for the first time should be prepared to show identification and provide either their driver’s license number or the last four digits of their social security number.

Registration hours are set for 2 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28, and from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Board of Elections staff will be available at the Cattaraugus County Board of Elections, located at 207 Rock City St., Little Valley.

The commissioners encouraged voters who may have changed their name, moved, updated their mailing address or otherwise made any changes that may affect their voter registration information to notify the Board of Elections as soon as possible.

The last day to register to vote for the 2024 General Election is Oct. 26.

Voter registration forms are available at the Board of Elections office at 207 Rock City St., Suite 100, Little Valley, NY; town and village clerks; and county post offices. Forms can also be downloaded from the New York State Board of Elections website or at www.CattCo.org/Board-Elections. Additionally, voters may register online through the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at https://voterreg.dmv.ny.gov/MotorVoter or https://elections.ny.gov/register-vote.

The Board of Elections is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The board can be reached by phone at (716) 938-2400, by email using our contact form at www.CattCo.org/board-elections/contact, or visited in person regarding questions about voter registration status.
