Elder abuse, often unreported, can manifest in various forms including physical violence, financial exploitation, neglect, and spiritual and emotional abuse. In recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 3, 2024, community events are being organized to educate the public on how to identify and combat elder abuse.
These events will take place at 11:15 a.m. at the following senior dining sites:
- Portville: June 5 at 14 Temple Street
- South Dayton: June 11 at 327 Pine Street
- Delevan: June 13 at 78 South Main Street
- Gowanda: June 20 at 1 School Street
Participants are encouraged to join these sessions to learn more about protecting the elderly in their communities.
