JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Dwyer Dog Ruck Walk is set to take place on June 1 at 11:00 am at the scenic Bergman Park, located at 487 Baker Street Extension in Jamestown, NY. This event, organized by the Dwyer Veterans Peer-to-Peer Program, aims to bring together local veterans and mental health advocates for a cause that combines fun with a serious purpose.

The walk encourages participants to bring their dogs along for a one-mile journey, symbolizing the veterans who tragically take their lives daily. Participants are invited to carry rucksacks of any weight they choose to represent the daily heavy burden many veterans carry.

The event will feature a Ruck Walk Parade around Bergman Park. It's not just any walk; it’s a celebration of canine companionship and camaraderie. The event is open to everyone – whether you’ve served in the military or not. If you have a dog, you’re part of the family! Attendees are encouraged to show support for our veterans and raise awareness for mental health in a unique and meaningful way.

There will also be playtime for pups, ensuring plenty of tail-wagging excitement. Organizers have arranged for dog treats and poop bags to ensure a clean and happy park for all attendees.

This walk is an excellent opportunity to honor our veterans, support mental health awareness, and spend quality time with your four-legged best friend. Event organizers request dog owners keep their pets on a leash. The event will proceed rain or shine.
