2022: 45 coaches at institutions in Chautauqua County earned on average $14,837

Chautauqua County’s 45 coaches earned an average salary of $14,837 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 10th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at New York post-secondary schools during 2022.

Chautauqua County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, SUNY at Fredonia stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $27,668.

Male coaches of men's teams received $20,888 on average in Chautauqua County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $16,668.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
