2022: 109 coaches at institutions in Allegany County earned on average $27,302

Allegany County’s 109 coaches earned an average salary of $27,302 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 17th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at New York post-secondary schools during 2022.

Allegany County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, SUNY College of Technology at Alfred stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $34,355.

Male coaches of men's teams received $28,891 on average in Allegany County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $25,848.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
