Census Bureau: 78.5% of people in Wayne County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 91,332 citizens living in Wayne County in 2021, 78.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 71,710 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 35,612 were male, constituting 49.7%, and 36,098 were female, making up 50.3%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Wayne County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 79%.
