Of the 1,981 people living in Allegany in 2020, 46.3 percent (918) were women and 53.7 percent (1,063) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the West NY News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 147. In the 65 and over age range, there were 186 females and 129 males.
