GOWANDA CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT: New Panther Bridge Open to Vehicle & Pedestrian Traffic

Gowanda Central School District recently issued the following announcement.

Just under four months after replacement efforts got underway on the span connecting Gowanda Central School District to the village, the new and improved Panther Bridge is open to vehicle and pedestrian traffice.

The connector, which is part of the district’s ongoing Capital Improvement Project, has an estimated lifetime of 75 years. It officially re-opened on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. following a ceremonial ribbon-cutting celebrating the improved asset. The bridge closed to all traffic the week of June 22, 2020, and was the site of heavy construction over the summer.

School administrators, members of the Board of Education and representatives from the Young+Wright Architectural were on hand for the ceremony.
