Gowanda Central School District recently issued the following announcement.
Gowanda High School has announced information about the Class of 2020 Parade set Friday, June 26, 2020, along with a map of the route. We are looking forward to celebrating our seniors and encourage the community to cheer on our graduates while practicing safe social distancing.
TIMELINE
7:00 p.m. | Class Picture at Hillis Field. GRADUATES ONLY. Please wear cap/gown or graduation attire.
7:15 p.m. | Line up at Gowanda Elementary School
7:30 p.m. | Parade start time
PARADE INFO
Route: The graduates and their families will depart from Gowanda Elementary School and travel up Allen Street, turn right on Buffalo Street, continue on to Jamestown Street, turn right on South Chapel Street, turn right on West Main Street and finally turn left onto North Water Street. Parade participants may depart after turning onto North Water Street.
We are asking graduates to wear their cap and gown or graduation attire. Decorate your cars and show your Panther pride!
Upon arrival to the elementary school, graduates will receive a sign for the dashboard of their vehicle so they can be properly identified and announce in front of the Hollywood Theater.
Only graduates and their families may participate in the parade procession.
Spectators must maintain social distancing while cheering on our seniors. Seniors will be announced by vehicle in front of Hollywood Theater.
We expect this event to last roughly 30 minutes. The roads listed will be closed off for the duration of the parade. Please plan accordingly.
