EDA awards the Seneca Nation of Indians $290,000 grant on May 8, 2019

The US Economic Development Administration awarded the Seneca Nation of Indians a grant worth $290,000 to help fund a project in Chautauqua County.

The grant was awarded on May 8, 2019. The EDA describes the grant as follows:

"This EDA investment supports the Seneca Nation to conduct a detailed deployment strategy, feasibility study, and engineering plans to install broadband fiber throughout the Cattaraugus territory located in a designated Opportunity Zone in western New York. Results of this study will provide essential information to support the region's effort in building a broadband system to diversify its economy and increase its high speed Internet services, which will help sustain and grow businesses throughout the region."
