Dennis Park, a resident of Jamestown aged 40, has been resentenced to 18 years in state prison with 25 years of post-release supervision. Park’s conviction includes first-degree rape and a first-degree criminal sex act, both considered class B felonies. As District Attorney Jason Schmidt confirmed on March 31, these sentences will run concurrently.

Previously, Park had been sentenced in March 2020. However, the Appellate Division of New York State later found this sentence illegal. In November 2024, they returned the case to Chautauqua County Court, giving Park the option to either be resentenced or withdraw his plea. Park chose to be resentenced.

Judge David W. Foley imposed the new sentence. The case traces back to an incident in August 2018, investigated by the Jamestown Police Department.
