Early voting for the June 24, 2025, Primary Election provides a nine-day period where voters can cast their ballots in person before the official Election Day. The voting experience during early voting remains consistent with what voters encounter on Election Day. Voters must check in upon arrival at the polling station, receive their ballots, and proceed to vote.
Instructions on using the ballot, along with a “notice to voter” and bill of rights, will be available at the polling locations. Election inspectors will also be on hand to offer explanations or assistance as needed. Importantly, individuals voting early cannot vote again on Election Day or any other day within the early voting period.
Results from early voting will be canvassed and subsequently reported after 9:00 p.m. on election night.
For voters who are unable to be present in the county on Election Day due to temporary or permanent illness, physical disability, caregiving responsibilities, or those detained in veteran or civilian facilities, absentee ballots can be requested. It is crucial to note that New York State law prohibits casting a vote on a machine if an absentee ballot has been issued for that election, to prevent instances of double voting. However, those issued absentee ballots can utilize affidavit ballots to vote in person.
