The Chautauqua County District Attorney’s Office and the Jamestown Police Department are organizing a community night at the Jamestown Tarp Skunks game. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park.

This initiative is part of New York State’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) grant program, which aims to reduce gun-related violence and violent crime in Jamestown. The event offers an opportunity for residents to engage with law enforcement, fostering public safety and trust within the community.

Representatives from both the District Attorney’s Office and the Jamestown Police Department will be present at the game. They will provide informational handouts, recruitment materials, and answer general questions from attendees. The public is encouraged to learn more about the GIVE program and meet those working towards a safer Jamestown.

A ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by a member of the partnership during the event. Other local law enforcement partners may also attend, including members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Probation Department.

Free tickets for this community night are available at the District Attorney’s Office or can be picked up at Russell E. Diethrick Jr. Park on game night. The event is open to all residents who wish to support their local team while interacting with officials in a relaxed environment.

Residents are invited to join in supporting the Tarp Skunks and stand together for a safer Jamestown.
