The Chautauqua County Executive, in collaboration with the Chair of the County Legislature, has established a committee to review the Chautauqua County Charter and Administrative Code. This process invites public participation as part of its evaluation.
As mandated by law, this review takes place every decade to ensure that the county’s governing documents remain relevant and effective. Residents are encouraged to share their comments, recommendations, or concerns about these documents.
The Chautauqua County Charter and Administrative Code form the basis for county government operations, defining the roles and responsibilities of officials, departments, and legislative procedures. To promote transparency and community engagement, the County is seeking input from residents to guide any necessary updates.
These documents are accessible online at chqgov.com/legislature/Forms-Documents for public review.
Residents who wish to provide feedback can email their comments to charterreview@chqgov.com. The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2025.
