The Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County is set to support the annual Owen J. Miller Walk/Run, scheduled for Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Ripley Central School. Known as the “Buddy Walk,” this event commemorates Owen J. Miller and emphasizes that no one should face life’s challenges alone.
The event is open to all, with free attendance. Participants are invited to walk or run in honor of Owen and contribute to the Owen J. Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations can also be made directly through the event’s official donation page.
“Events like the Buddy Walk offer a meaningful opportunity to come together, reflect, and uplift one another,” stated Carri Raynor, Director of the Suicide Prevention Alliance of Chautauqua County. “Owen’s legacy continues to inspire action, unity, and compassion within our community.”
The walk serves as both a tribute and a call to action under the theme #ChangeTheWorldForOwen, encouraging community support and suicide prevention efforts throughout the region. Additional information and support options are available on the event’s Facebook page or at preventsuicidechq.com.
