The Chautauqua Hometown Heroes Veterans Memorial in Mayville, NY, recently celebrated the unveiling of a new educational kiosk, further solidifying its commitment to honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans. The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the kiosk took place on Saturday, May 4, drawing members of the Chautauqua County community to commemorate this significant moment.

Clara Dunbar, Vice President of the Chautauqua Hometown Heroes Veterans Memorial Committee, expressed the importance of the new addition, stating, "The unveiling of this educational kiosk represents a pivotal moment in our community's commitment to honoring our veterans and preserving their stories for generations to come."

The educational kiosk offers a deep dive into the American Revolutionary War, particularly focusing on the involvement of various Native American tribes alongside American colonists. Chautauqua County Executive Paul M. Since its dedication in October 2021, the Chautauqua Hometown Heroes Veterans Memorial has been a place of reflection and remembrance for the entire Chautauqua County community. The memorial, located in the Mayville Cemetery, features a gazebo-like structure adorned with commemorative bricks, serving as a lasting tribute to the heroes who have shaped the nation's history.
