Four Alfred University men's basketball members were selected to the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III in late February.

Casey Curran (Allegany, NY/Allegany-Limestone), Kevin Durkin (Buffalo, NY/St. Joseph's Collegiate), Adam Enders (Belfast, NY/Belfast) and Darren Miller (Seneca Falls, NY/Mynderse Academy) were all selected to the CSC All-District Teams, making them the largest group of student-athletes from the Empire 8.

The 2022-23 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.

To qualify, a student-athlete needs to have a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or an important reserve, competing in over 50 percent of the team's games.

Curran has earned academic honors in every semester since joining AU including two Empire 8 President's List (3.75 GPA or higher). Durkin has also garnered an academic award in every semester while also earning entrance into Chi Alpha Sigma Honors Society, an academic fraternity for collegiate student-athletes. Enders has four Empire 8 President's List accolades and has made every semester's Saxon Scholar Athlete (3.20 GPA or higher) and all but one Dean's List (3.50 GPA or higher). Enders and Miller also earned Chi Alpha Sigma honors as Miller has had multiple Dean's Lists and Saxon Scholar Athlete honors.
